Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival | Negombo
•Welcome at Bandaranaike International Airport •Short transfer to Negombo (20 mins). •Relax after flight – enjoy a sunset walk along Negombo Beach or explore the Dutch Canal & local fishing village •Dinner with fresh seafood (Negombo is famous for crabs & prawns). •Overnight stay in Negombo
Day 2 – Dambulla / Sigiriya
•Drive to the Cultural Triangle (4 hrs). •Visit Dambulla Cave Temple – stunning Buddhist cave murals & 150+ statues. •Evening: climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress (best before sunset for views of the jungle and village below). •Explore Sigiriya village life (bullock cart ride, canoeing, traditional cooking experience). •Overnight in Sigiriya
Day 3 – Polonnaruwa & Minneriya Safari
•Morning: explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa (UNESCO site with ruins, giant statues, and the Gal Vihara rock carvings). •Afternoon: Minneriya National Park Safari – famous for “The Gathering” of hundreds of wild elephants (July–Sep peak season). •???? Overnight in Sigiriya
Day 4 – Kandy
•En route stop at a Spice Garden in Matale •Arrive in Kandy – the cultural heart of Sri Lanka. •Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic •Evening: Kandy Cultural Show (traditional dance, fire-walking). •Stroll around Kandy Lake for a peaceful evening. •Overnight in Kandy
Day 5 – Nuwara Eliya (Hill Country)
•Scenic drive/train ride from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. •Visit Ramboda Falls on the way. •Tour a Tea Factory & Plantation – taste authentic Ceylon tea. •Explore colonial Nuwara Eliya town (Victoria Park, post office, racecourse). •Evening walk around Gregory Lake •Overnight in Nuwara Eliya
Day 6 – Passikudah (East Coast)
•Long but scenic drive (6 hrs) from Nuwara Eliya → Passikudah. •Check in at your beach resort •Evening relaxation on the golden sandy bay of Passikudah – shallow, crystal-clear water, perfect for swimming even 100m into the sea •Overnight in Passikudah
Day 7 – Passikudah (Beach & Water Sports)
•Full day leisure at Passikudah. •Optional: Snorkeling , Diving, Jet Skiing, Catamaran Sailing •Relax on the beach with turquoise waters (best in summer season – calm seas). •Overnight in Passikudah
Day 8 – Ella (Hill Country Beauty)
•Drive to Ella via Badulla •Stop at Nine Arches Bridge •Visit Little Adam’s Peak (easy hike with amazing valley views). •Sunset at Ravana Falls •Evening in Ella’s lively village (cafés, rooftop bars, chill vibe). •Overnight in Ella
Day 9 – Mirissa (South Coast)
•Scenic drive Ella → Mirissa (4.5 hrs). •Relax at Mirissa Beach •Optional evening visit to Coconut Tree Hill (sunset viewpoint). •Overnight in Mirissa
Day 10 – Galle / Departure
•Morning option: Whale Watching Tour (seasonal May–Sep is less ideal than winter, but dolphin cruises available). •Drive to Galle Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site) – explore Dutch colonial ramparts, boutique shops, and lighthouse. •Continue to Colombo (2 hrs) for departure
