Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Colombo

•Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, Colombo. •Transfer to your hotel in Colombo for check-in and relaxation. •Begin a brief orientation tour of the city, including: oGalle Face Green – enjoy the sunset along the ocean promenade. oPettah Market – explore the vibrant local marketplace. oIconic colonial architecture – a glimpse into Sri Lanka’s historic heritage. •Overnight stay in Colombo.

Day 2: Dambulla & Sigiriya Cultural Exploration

•Depart to Dambulla in the morning. •Visit the Golden Dambulla Cave Temple , a UNESCO World Heritage Site with ancient Buddha statues and intricate murals. •Continue to Sigiriya Rock Fortress , the iconic ancient citadel, and climb to the summit for panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. •Optional: Experience a traditional village tour – enjoy an ox cart ride and observe local cooking methods. •Overnight stay in the Sigiriya / Dambulla area.

Day 3: Cultural Triangle → Kandy

•Optionally explore Anuradhapura , the sacred city of ancient stupas and the revered Bodhi Tree . •Drive to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. •Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic , home to the revered relic of Lord Buddha. •In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kandyan dance performance , showcasing Sri Lankan music and dance traditions. •Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 4: Kandy → Nuwara Eliya (Hill Country)

•Morning visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, renowned for its collection of orchids and tropical flora. •Drive through the scenic central highlands to Nuwara Eliya, often called “Little England” for its colonial charm and cool climate . •Visit a tea plantation and factory to learn about the production of world-famous Ceylon tea. •Optional stop at Ramboda Falls , one of Sri Lanka’s most picturesque waterfalls. •Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 5: Scenic Train Journey to Ella

•Board the train from Nanu Oya to Ella , considered one of the most scenic train routes in the world, offering breathtaking views of tea plantations, mountains, and valleys. •Explore Ella: o Walk along the Nine Arches Bridge , an engineering marvel surrounded by lush greenery. o Hike Little Adam’s Peak for panoramic views of the hill country. o Optional visit to Ravana Falls , a majestic waterfall steeped in local legend. •Overnight stay in Ella.

Day 6: Wildlife Safari & Transfer to South Coast

•Depart early for a wildlife safari at Udawalawe National Park or Yala National Park . •Enjoy guided safari drives to spot elephants , leopards , and diverse birdlife . •After the safari, drive to a south coast beach resort for leisure and relaxation. •Overnight stay at a coastal hotel.

Day 7: Galle Fort & Beach Leisure

•Morning visit to Galle Fort , a UNESCO World Heritage Site with Dutch colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, and historic ramparts. •Afternoon at leisure for beach activities or optional whale watching in Mirissa . •Evening at leisure to enjoy coastal dining and sunsets. •Overnight stay at the beach.

Day 8: Departure from Sri Lanka

•Morning relaxation at the beach or optional last-minute shopping. •Drive back to Colombo for departure . •Conclude your 8-day journey with memories of Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage, scenic landscapes, and wildlife experiences.
