Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival | Negombo
•Pickup at Bandaranaike International Airport •Transfer to Negombo (20 min). •Evening leisure: walk along Negombo Beach , explore Dutch Canal & local fish market . •Overnight in Negombo
Day 2 – Anuradhapura (Ancient Capital)
•Morning drive to Anuradhapura (4 hrs). •Explore UNESCO World Heritage City: oSri Maha Bodhi Tree (over 2,000 years old – oldest recorded tree in the world). oRuwanwelisaya Stupa – one of the tallest monuments in the ancient world. oAbhayagiriya & Jetavanaramaya – giant monasteries and dagobas. oSamadhi Buddha Statue •Overnight in Anuradhapura
Day 3 – Dambulla & Sigiriya
•Travel to Dambulla (2.5 hrs). •Visit Dambulla Cave Temple – ancient murals & Buddha statues inside caves. •Afternoon: climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress for epic jungle views. •Evening village walk + traditional Sri Lankan cooking experience •Overnight in Dambulla/Sigiriya
Day 4 – Kandy (Optional stop) → Nuwara Eliya
•On the way to Hill Country, optional stop at Kandy for the Temple of the Tooth Relic . •Continue to Nuwara Eliya (approx. 5 hrs from Dambulla). •Visit Ramboda Falls on the way. •Evening walk around Gregory Lake and Victoria Park . •Overnight in Nuwara Eliya
Day 5 – Nuwara Eliya → Ella
•Scenic train ride from Nanu Oya (Nuwara Eliya station) → Ella (rated one of the most beautiful in the world). •In Ella: o Nine Arches Bridge o Hike to Little Adam’s Peak (short and rewarding). o Relax with a coffee at a hilltop café overlooking the valley. •Overnight in Ella
Day 6 – Ella → Mirissa
•Morning visit to Ravana Falls •Drive down from the mountains to Mirissa (4.5 hrs). •Evening: relax at Mirissa Beach or enjoy sunset at Coconut Tree Hill . •Overnight in Mirissa
Day 7 – Mirissa (Beach & Whale Watching)
•Early morning: Whale Watching Cruise (Dec–Apr = best season). •Day at leisure on the beach (surfing, snorkeling, or just relaxing). •Optional evening visit to Galle Fort (1 hr away). •Overnight in Mirissa
Day 8 – Colombo / Departure
•Drive back to Colombo (2.5 hrs). •Quick Colombo City Tour if time permits: Galle Face Green, Lotus Tower, Pettah Market. •Transfer to Airport
